A Few Favorite Sock-Knitting Books

Check'um out!  :) Click text links below.

Two Socks at a Time

I'm knitting these on circular needles - Addi Turbos
:) which are by far my

favorites as far as circulars go! For anyone interested in learning how to knit two socks at a time, I will be posting a series of lessons shortly, so stay tuned.

Have I mentioned that I'm also an oil painter? I have a Dulce floor easel for my large works which is just great as it is quite reasonably priced and accommodates a very large canvas and yet has somewhat of a small footprint. I also have a French easel for my mid- to smaller paintings which is great since I can use it inside or easily bring it out in the field when I paint en plein air. But as usual I've managed to get off the subject:) Aren't my red sock stitch holders just adorable?!! :-)

Knitting the Winter Socks

Winter is already starting to move in here in northern New England with freezing rain and snow. I knit these socks with a worsted weight yarn, a soft and cozy warm alpaca yarn, and as you'd imagine, they're nice and thick, warm and comfy. I wear them with my Crocs in the fall or inside my barn boots when I'm feeding my flock of hens or letting them in and out of the barn.

This is just your basic sock pattern from the book, Knitting Socks, which is a great book with instructions for basic patterns in different weight yarns. As you can see in the picture, I knitted these socks using 4 double-pointed bamboo needles. Below are the socks, just about done and I'm just finishing up the toe.
